Description: Donna Bowen McDaniel and Vanessa Julye will discuss their book, Fit for Freedom, Not for Friendship: Quakers, African Americans, and the Myth of Racial Justice, which uncovers misperceptions about the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) historically supporting racial justice and equality. A book signing sponsored by Tufts Bookstore and reception will follow the talk. An exhibit about the authors will be on display in Tisch Library lobby from October 13-November 16, 2009.
