The Global Lens film series is an annual touring film program of eight to ten narrative feature films from Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East.

Fernando Birri, considered the founder of New Latin American Cinema, is currently teaching two courses in the Department of Romance Languages. Latin American film scholar Jorge Ruffinelli of Stanford University will be on hand with Birri to discuss his works.
